The Network of the National Library of Medicine's Public Health Coordination Office (NPHCO) provides access to research information, including e-journals, e-books, databases and research through the Public Health Digital Library (PHDL). Ongoing training and article delivery are also available to participating members who collaboratively fund their access to the resources. Public health departments and other public health organizations can contact us about participating in the program.
Funded by the National Library of Medicine, the National Public Health Coordination Office oversees the program, securing information resources, training, and access to provide the best evidence in public health research and practice.
The Public Health Digital Library is a collection of databases, journals and eBooks to participating public health departments and organizations. Resources are selected to support evidence-based practice for all areas of public health practice and research. See our PHDL collection page for a full list of resources available in the PHDL.
Public Health Department departments and other organizations support their evidence based practice and research by making access available to the Public Health Digital Library to their staff. Participating departments and organizations combine their funding to support ongoing access to the information resources provided through the digital library. Departments participate in training programs to maximize using the evidence based resources through NPHCO. You can find more information about the PHDL program on our website or contact the PHDL office.
Please see the membership directory for a list of public health departments participating in the program.
Public Health Departments are supported by a local Partner Library. Partner Libraries deliver articles to users of the Public Health Digital Library when the article is not part of the PHDL collection. Partner Libraries can also support public health departments through instruction and reference support.
